*Omega-3* fatty acids are a group of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). ALA (Alpha-linolenic acid), EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid), and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) are the principal component of the Omega-3 group. Omega-3 fatty acids are called essential because your body can’t make them, and they can only be obtained through dietary sources . ALA is majorly found in plant sources while EPA and DHA are found mainly in algae and marine sources.
